Environment Virginia Car Show provides insight into the future of electric vehicles.

Electric vehicle (EV) owners, climate activists and concerned citizens gathered Saturday morning at the Environment Virginia Car Show to discuss the future of transportation and how Fairfax County can lead the state in the transition to electric vehicles.

Virginia Port Authority Green Operator Program

The Virginia Port Authority and VCC are working together to reduce harmful diesel emissions in the Hampton Roads region. This project establishes a Green Operator Hotline that assists truck drivers with information on financing a drayage truck replacement. The program provides a $20,000 incentive towards the purchase of newer drayage trucks and up to $6,000 towards the purchase of a retrofit. VCC is assisting with program management, marketing and outreach. This is an ongoing project.

U.S. Department of Transportation Announces Availability of $60 Million for Advanced Transportation Technologies Grants

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) today published a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for states, cities and other agencies to compete for $60 million in Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment Program (ATCMTD) grants to fund new technologies that improve transportation efficiency.
