On Nov. 30th, 2022 the Department of Energy (DOE) received funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to renew American’s schools within two areas of interest: energy efficiency and health improvements. The program aims to provide funding for public K-12 schools, school districts, and state educational agencies, allowing for increased installation of alternatively fueled vehicle infrastructure on school grounds, purchase or lease of alternatively fueled vehicles for schools, and the growth of renewable energy technologies. The DOE expects to make a total of $80 million in federal funding available for approximately 20-100 individual awards of $500,000 to $15 million.
The current closing date for applications is April 21, 2023, providing a great opportunity for public school systems to prepare and propel their infrastructure into the future of energy efficiency!
