The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments is hosting their Public Policy Day on January 18th, 2024 at the Washington, D.C. Auto Show for a discussion on accelerating electric vehicle (EV) deployment in the metropolitan Washington region.
In 2023, the COG Board launched the region’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Deployment Clearinghouse, comprised of a suite of resources to aid localities as they work to create a robust, equitable, and accessible EV network for metropolitan Washington. The Regional Electric Vehicle Deployment (REVD) Working Group was also formed at COG as a forum for members to collaborate and coordinate actions related to deploying EVs and EV infrastructure. In 2024 the momentum continues to build around this key strategy to achieving our region’s climate goals.
At this event held in partnership with the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition (GWRCCC), we’ll discuss regional challenges and opportunities in electric vehicle charging deployment with insights from local government representatives and industry experts on a panel hosted by GWRCCC Executive Director Antoine Thompson. Attendees will also receive a presentation on the COG Regional Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Implementation (REVII) Strategy draft results, which includes recommendations for vehicle registration projections and charging station locations.
All registered attendees will be given free access to the Auto Show Sneak Peek before it opens to the public.
