Virginia Clean Cities hosted a comprehensive one-day workshop for public and private fleet operators and clean-air/clean transportation policymakers. This event was co-hosted by the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation, the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy, the Department of Environmental Quality, and James Madison University.
Around 100 attendees learned:

- Environmental, energy security and economic market drivers
- NGVs 101 basics review
- Best NGV applications and why
- Light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles available from OEMs and retrofit companies
- Fuel station design, development and ownership/operations options
- Federal and state tax credits, grants and other incentives
- NGV fleet operator experiences and tips
- Next steps in implementing a successful NGV program
Registration Fee was $65; Early registration rate of $55 was available until 5/20/10

A variety of public and private fleet managers from food and beverage distributors, limousines operators, refuse companies and government/public works departments were among the 75 attendees to this workshop in Northern Virginia. At the close of the day, a number of our registrants took advantage of the opportunity to visit Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority’s nearby Four Mile Run CNG depot.
