EPA Awards $780,000 to Clean Up Buses in Virginia

PHILADELPHIA (April 24, 2020) – In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded $780,000 today to replace 39 older diesel school buses in Virginia. The funds are among $11.5 million going to replace 580 older diesel school buses in 157 school bus fleets in 43 states and Puerto Rico, each of which will receive rebates through EPA’s Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) funding. BYD makes masks to aid public health

Electric Bus manufacturer BYD’s overseas plant, which is mass-producing sanitary face masks, is now running at capacity. The plant can produce 5 million masks and 300,000 bottles of disinfectant per day. BYD is growing its efforts to help alleviate severe shortages that have affected hospitals ozpills in the face of the COVID-19 global outbreak.
