The Charge at Home project is funded by the US Department of Energy and provides multifamily housing properties the tools and resources to advance the adoption of electric vehicle (EV) charging. Multiple home facilities such as apartments, rental complexes and more can benefit from the resources that this program offers. The goal of Charge at Home is to streamline EV charging planning and installation processes for the multifamily housing industry through education, resource sharing and support.
Guidance and support from this project includes EV charging installation toolkits for multifamily decision makers, education and tools for residents to use to advocate for charging where they live, as well general EV charging education and resources. As part of the Justice40 Initiative, this program will offer EV charging technical assistance support to multifamily housing stakeholders from historically underserved communities, as well as affordable multifamily housing partners.
Virginia Clean Cities is leading this effort in the City of Charlottesville, with additional outreach in other cities in the Commonwealth. If you would like to learn more, please contact Bruce Vlk at bvlk@vacleancities.org or Graham Sheridan at gsheridan@vacleancities.org.
