Fall is the season for clean energy! September kicks off National Drive Electric Week, which hosts events nationwide to raise awareness about the benefits of driving electric, and several of these events are happening in Virginia.
The first of Virginia’s Drive Electric events is the Electric Vehicle Fall Festival in Thornburg, VA. On September 18, 2022, car owners considering an EV will be able to browse a selection of electric vehicles at the car show, test drive these vehicles on a plotted course, and be able to talk directly with vendors about EV ownership. On September 24, 2022, Virginia Beach is hosting a National Drive Electric Week event at Pembroke Mall where attendees will be able to view EV car displays from local car dealerships and personally owned vehicles. Next on the calendar for Virginia’s Drive Electric Week is the Electrics & Espresso Car Meet happening in North Chesterfield, VA on September 25, 2022. Meeting at the Starbucks in Libbie Mill, electric vehicle owners and enthusiasts are welcome to attend; and expect special surprises and activities for National Drive Electric Week. Also on September 25, 2022, in Fairfax, VA, George Mason University is hosting a Drive Electric Day. Here, guests will get the chance to see electric cars and speak with owners to learn what it is like to own and drive an electric vehicle. While that concludes Drive Electric Week in Virginia, on October 29th, 2022, Harrisonburg, VA will be hosting the annual Rocktown Energy Festival (REF). Participants in this event will be able to attend presentations, family-friendly educational activities, a Solar Home Showcase, and networking booths—all with the goal of promoting clean energy in the Valley. Virginia Clean Cities will be in attendance with a booth and electric vehicles for demonstrations.
