Please join the Electrification Coalition for a state policy bootcamp and webinar on the wide-ranging benefits of freight electrification and Virginia’s window of opportunity to accelerate deployment. VCC’s Alleyn Harned will be speaking in a section on transit electrification.
The webinar will be held on Thursday, December 9th, 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. ET.
This executive-appropriate policy bootcamp will cover the wide-ranging benefits of electric medium- and heavy-duty (MHD) electric vehicles –from refuse trucks and delivery vans to school and transit buses to tractor trailer trucks. We will also discuss the policy opportunities for accelerating their deployment in Virginia. Speakers from the public sector and industry will discuss the state of the market, technology, and the experiences of fleets that are transitioning to EVs including municipalities, school districts and private industry.
Among other notable presenters, we are excited to announce that Congressman Don Beyer will offer remarks on federal EV policy, and Mr. Da’Quan Love, the Executive Director of the Virginia State Conference NAACP, will be sharing his perspective on public health and economic benefits of MHD electrification. Additionally, we will be joined by Gen. Charles F. “Chuck” Wald, the former Deputy Commander of the U.S. European Command, to discuss the national security value of speeding the transition to MHD electric vehicles. We will also be joined by Abigail Wulf, Director of the Ambassador Alfred Hoffman, Jr. Center for Critical Minerals Strategy at SAFE; Bill Eger, Energy Manager, City of Alexandria; Spencer Burget of ATLAS Public Policy, and many others.
