This summer, Keep Virginia Beautiful extended a grant to Virginia Clean Cities to help facilitate this Artisan Trash Cart Workshop – please join us in an expression of yourself, and of your neighborhood, as we build trashcans on wheels and adopt important streets of Harrisonburg to clean.

At Bikelab behind Gift and Thrift in Harrisonburg
820 Mt Clinton Pike Suite B
Harrisonburg Virginia 22802
Attendees will build their own cart, which can be used for neighborhood cleanups and for events like Black’s Run Cleanup Day, and be given additional tools to support litter cleanup activities in Harrisonburg. We will discuss some fun things including welding plastic and adopt-a-street signs, and we will hear about other community projects like Learn-a-Bike, Adopt-A-Street, Work Bike, Ebikes, and Soilcycles Composting.
Attendees can come and receive a limited number of trash carts and are encouraged to bring your own materials, such as trash cans, art supplies, and of course, old jogging strollers. Trash Walk Teams will be able to adopt streets and leave with their own carts to measure their litter pickup throughout the year. Trash Carts can be used to haul other things too. Additional materials will be provided by VCC and Keep VA Beautiful to build these trash carts.
