On March 16th, 2021 Virginia Clean Cities hosted an educational workshop teaching EV drivers how they can take better advantage of their EV and telematics data.
This workshop featured EV and telematics experts who taught individuals and fleets about the opportunity to leverage telematics data and a project to collect additional information about EVs in the United
States. Featured Speakers included Michael D. Laughlin, a Technology Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy, Don Francis, an Authorized Business Service Provider for Clipper Creek, and Victoria McGarril, a Consultant at Energetics. During the event, Michael spoke about the role of the U.S. Department of Energy and the importance of EV data. Don shared several apps and data platforms for EV drivers to use plan trips and charge their vehicles more easily. Victoria highlighted the EV WATTS project, an opportunity for EV owners in Virginia to contribute to the larger understanding of EV ownership and use. The session concluded with a great Q&A session.
