WASHINGTON (July 16, 2012) — The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) has expanded its Propane Mower Incentive Program to include a $500 incentive for mowers that have been converted to run on propane after they have been purchased from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
To be eligible, the conversion mower must be a commercial, heavy-duty mower with less than 10 hours of operation, and it must be a dedicated propane-fueled mower, not a dual-fueled model. The mower conversion kit must meet Environmental Protection Agency or California Air Resources Board requirements, and it cannot void the OEM’s factory warranty on the engine.

PERC’s original mower incentive program is still open to applicants. It offers up to $1,000 to qualified buyers of new propane-fueled mowers. Program participants of new and conversion mowers must report to PERC on the usage and operation of a mower for up to one year. A single applicant can receive incentives for up to 10 mowers, including both new and conversion mowers.
