On September 15th, 2021, Jessie Howell, the North American Sale Manager for ElectraTherm was the featured stakeholder for the Virginia Clean Cities Technology Happy Hour.
ElectraTherm is working to boost efficiency while reducing energy costs and emissions by harnessing the low-temperature waste heat that is all around us. In the U.S. today, over 90% of industrial waste heat is at too low of temperatures to economically generate power with traditional heat recovery systems. ElectraTherm’s technology can harness these low-temperature sources and turn them into clean power. This process allows power to be generated without any additional fuel consumption or emission creation. As Jessie described,
“If you have hot water, you have energy”
and if your site doesn’t have hot water, other heat sources can be converted to hot water and then turned into clean electricity. Methane optimization is a major industrial process that can be served by these low heat waste to energy technologies.

The Technology Happy Hour is a monthly series presented by Virginia Clean Cities aiming to connect individuals and fleets to technologies and provide a space for open discussion with technology providers. Our next session will take place on October 21st at 4 p.m. EST with VEIC who will tell us about their work on energy solutions and transportation electrification, including their work with electric school buses! Register here today and don’t forget to sign up for future Virginia Clean Cities Events on our events page!
If you are an alternative fuels technology provider who would like to be a featured stakeholder in this series, please reach out to VCC Program Coordinator Sarah Stalcup.
