Virginia Clean Cities to Honor Clean Transportation Champions

On April 4th, Virginia Clean Cities (VCC) will honor Virginia’s green fleets and clean transportation leaders with a special event held at the Richmond Main Street Station. Held each spring to recognize individuals and organizations working to reduce transportation emissions, the Rally in Richmond features panel presentations, an alternative fuel vehicle expo, an awards ceremony and more.

The Rally in Richmond serves as VCC’s annual fundraiser to advance clean transportation programs in the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond. Attendees include fleets, non-profit organizations, elected officials, industry leaders and electric vehicle enthusiasts.

Agenda:

2:00 p.m. – Congestion Mitigation & Air Quality Improvement Program panel discussion

2:45 p.m. – National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program and Modernizing Transit Fleets panel discussion

3:30 p.m. – Clean vehicle expo

5:00 p.m. – Reception and remarks

6:30 p.m. – Awards ceremony

Notable award winners include Delegate Richard “Rip” Sullivan for his work on clean energy and transportation, EVNoire’s co-founder Dr. Shelley Francis for her community-based educational programs on e-mobility and Norfolk State University’s Richard Martin for his sustainability leadership. Also receiving a special award is Virginia Department of Energy’s Al Christopher upon his retirement for 18 years of public service to the Commonwealth.
