As the House of Representatives debates the FY2012 energy and water appropriations bill, this week had seen several amendments in which members of congress from outside of the Commonwealth proposed to severely cut or eliminate funding for federal clean fuel programs, including Clean Cities. Thanks to strong bipartisan support for clean vehicle programs, the Broun and Pompeo amendments cutting dollars from Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Vehicle Technologies, and the Clean Cities program failed (Roll Call Votes #547, #545, and #592). We are proud to work in a state that prioritizes a clean energy future, and we encourage all Virginia Clean Cities stakeholders to reach out and thank your congressional representative for this show of support.
