DEQ Now Accepting Grant Applications for the Clean School Bus Program

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is now accepting applications for battery electric and propane school buses through the Clean School Bus Program. DEQ will award $20 million to Virginia public schools from the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust through two rounds of competitive application processes. Government Alternative Fuel Vehicle Incentive is now accepting applications!

State agencies and local governments in current or former specific air quality non-attainment, ozone attainment and/or maintenance areas may be reimbursed for incremental costs to transition to alternative fuels such as electric, natural gas or propane autogas.  Agencies are encouraged to apply.  Reimbursements are up to an average of $10,000 for the incremental cost of new vehicles or reasonable aftermarket conversions.

Funding is currently available through June 30, 2021.
