Montpelier Installs Chargers for Electric Car Drivers

NEW YORK —

Seven U.S. states and 16 major automakers are launching a joint $1.5 million advertising campaign to prod Americans to buy electric vehicles.

Automakers are investing billions of dollars to develop dozens of new EVs in the face of regulatory requirements, but face slow U.S. sales.

General Motors Co, Volkswagen AG, Toyota Motor Corp and many other companies, along with Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Montpelier Installs Chargers for Electric Car Drivers

ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) –
Drivers can now power up in the parking lot at a historic presidential estate in central Virginia.

The public chargers for electric vehicles at James Madison’s Montpelier are the first in Orange County, and the first at any national trust for a historic preservation site.

NVRC Hosts Successful Workshop on Electric Vehicles

The Northern Virginia Regional Commission was pleased to co-host with Virginia Clean Cities a successful workshop on electric vehicles and electric vehicle charging. The well attended workshop informed participants on the advantages of electric vehicles, the financial and environmental benefits and other aspects of fleet management. Companies represented included Nissan USA, Mike Albert Fleet Solutions, Mercedes Benz, Greenlots and SemaConnect.

After the presentations participants were able to view a vehicle demonstration of several different vehicle models.

Roanoke adds electric cars to city’s fleet to replace gas guzzling sedans and SUVs

Roanoke officials are charged up about adding a dozen electric cars to the city’s municipal fleet, a move that the city says will reduce emissions and save money.
