Clean Energy Fuels Corp., a major provider of natural gas and fueling structures for the transportation sector, says it has been awarded a multiyear compressed natural gas (CNG) contract for Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority, which provides transit services to more than 4 million people across the National Capital Region.

Earlier this month in New Castle, Delaware Transit Corporation unveiled the highly anticipated new onsite propane fuel station along with plans to increase its existing fleet of propane-powered paratransit buses to 130 vehicles.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have finalized new standards for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles that will improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon pollution while also strengthening national energy security and manufacturing innovation.
