Electric Vehicle Sales Continue to Charge Ahead in Virginia in 2023

Electric vehicle sales in Virginia continued their rapid acceleration in Virginia in 2023. Registration data compiled by Atlas Public Policy and their AtlasEV Hub for Virginia in 2023 continues to show the growing interest and acceptance of electric vehicles throughout the Commonwealth. In 2023, Virginia had 97,563 battery electric (BEV) or plug-in electric hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) on the road. This is a a 49% increase from the 65,000 BEVs and PHEVs registered in Virginia in 2022.
