VCC Co-Hosts Alternative Fuel Education Workshop

On May 20th,  Virginia Clean Cities co-hosted an Alternative Fuels Workshop with the national trade associations of the alternative fuels industry. The event was held in Chantilly, VA at the headquarters of TV Worldwide. Virginia Get Ready Roundtable

The Virginia Get Ready Roundtable has gathered for an introductory meeting on May 18, 2010 and established an initial plan for deployment of electric vehicles in Virginia. Virginia Utilities have installed and converted Prius vehicles, bucket trucks, and have agreed to purchase test Volt units when available. The Commonwealth has installed free access vehicle charging units at one rest area. Southeast Propane Autogas Development Program About to Take Off

April 17th marked a milestone moment in the propane corridor project. General Session Oil Companies Investment

Marathon and Murphy Oil outlined some of their activities and investments in ethanol. Marathon has invested in production with two plants and a network spread out across the Midwest and into the southeast with a Virginia impact in the valley. Marathon’s Cliff Cook believes E85 is not the magic bullet, but instead blends over E10 will be more effective in expanding ethanol use as long as there are older traditional vehicles on the road.
