DTC Unveils On-Site Fueling Station and Plans to Increase Propane-Powered Fleet

Earlier this month in New Castle, Delaware Transit Corporation unveiled the highly anticipated new onsite propane fuel station along with plans to increase its existing fleet of propane-powered paratransit buses to 130 vehicles.

After working with DTC on a two-year pilot program testing five ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas paratransit buses, the agency was so pleased with the results that its leaders purchased 50 more this year, with plans to purchase an additional 75 by FY2018.

Fuel-Efficiency Standards Finalized for Heavy-Duty Trucks

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have finalized new standards for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles that will improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon pollution while also strengthening national energy security and manufacturing innovation.

According to the EPA, the final Phase 2 standards respond to President Barack Obama’s Climate Action Plan and his administration’s directive in early 2014 to develop new standards that run into the next decade.
